BMW will launch the facelifted Z4 roadster for the Indian market on November 14. It has been the mainstay of the German automaker’s CBU range. The Z4 has been on sale in India since 2009 and since then has received only one update. The 2014 Z4 is the last in this series as BMW will unveil and eventually launch an all-new Z4 next year.
Exterior
The 2014 BMW Z4 gets a revised fascia in the form LED headlights, new bumper and of course the new BMW grille which debuted on the 203 3 Series last year. The side profile remains the same overall but now includes aerodynamic lines and creases for increased efficiency. The OVRMs have integrated turn signal indicators which have chrome-coloured surrounds. They also get a newly designed tapered surround for the side indicators adding a dynamic sweep to the gills on the front side sections of the car. The rear remains the same as the standard car but now features LED indicators and tail lamps. The boot lid under which the hardtop retracts has also been given a few more aerodynamic creases. BMW is now also offering the roof in a contrast colour as well. The frame is well supported by tyres that sport new 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The new trim is called the Hyper Orange package which comprises contrast coloured panels, accents and stitching on the upholstery. Other changes inside include gloss black trims for the air vents and special anthracite wooden finish for the doors. The black leather seats have contrast stitching in a shade BMW calls Valencia Orange. There is an accent stripe running down the centre of the backrests and seat cushions. Standard features on the Z4 include climate control, iDrive, Alacantra trim for the steering and gearknob and of course the retractable hardtop which can open and retract in less than 25 seconds.

However, in India we will only get the SDrivei35 whose engine produces 301bhp and 400Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via the eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox.
What will it be priced at?
We expect that BMW will price the Z4 for Rs 70 lakh and is likely to offer the M performance accessories for the car a few months after it is launched.
